Developer co-founder wanted for telecoms software startup Full-time

at Not named yet in Tech City / Silicon Roundabout

I'm looking for a developer co-founder to build a specialist bit of cloud-based software for the telecoms industry (I can be more specific at a later stage!). To build this will require building user interfaces, XML feed conversions, database management and working with mathematical algorithms.

I have 10+ years of senior and very relevant experience in telecoms, so I know this particular market very well and am able to specify the business requirements for the development to a high level of detail. I have already set up one successful startup so I know the score on that front and have the business skills to manage a company. There is potential here to create a medium sized but highly profitable business very quickly within a few months of starting out.

I'm looking for a co-founder who must be numerate and organised as well as a great technical architect and developer. They must be able to cope with most of the above, but also to know their own limitations and be prepared to outsource where necessary to ensure high quality implementation. They must also be able to manage and source all the technology requirements eg hosting. They should have credibility, professionalism and ideally credentials which will aid me in selling this software to large companies - inspiring confidence in our customers that a start-up can serve their needs.

In recognition of the critical part that a developer will play in this venture and the calibre of developer that is required I intend this to be a 50/50 venture. To be clear, there is no funding right now (too early stage) so there is an expectation that both co-founders will self-fund initially, and this will require a time commitment. Possibility of free desk space in Silicon Roundabout area due to association with other startup. Please do not apply if you are looking for a salary. There is some risk to be taken but success or failure should become apparent reasonably quickly, enabling everyone to move on quickly if it's not to be.

The co-founder must be keen to not only build the tool but also continue to develop it after the initial build, probably managing a small team, since there will be continual development required. Therefore management skills and experience of recruiting talented junior developers would be useful assets. If the venture is successful, I would expect the co-founder to build, grow & manage the business over a period of 2+ years, possibly followed by a trade sale.

Please respond to telecomssoftwarestartup@gmail.com with full details of experience and why you think you're suitable, to start the conversation.
