Turtl is hiring

Backend developer (Node.js, MongoDB)

You will be working for Turtl as Backend developer (Node.js, MongoDB)

Turtl is a London-based seed funded startup with the goal of empowering anyone to create and publish beautiful interactive content. We're putting the finishing touches to the first version of our product and have orders and interest from several large international blue chip companies, which means we now need to grow the team. We will also be opening a San Francisco office over the months ahead.

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic backend developer to join our team and take a lead role in helping to extend, maintain and scale the server-side of our operations as we grow. The team is small and friendly with a 'can-do' attitude, an agile mindset and a totally flat hierarchy. Everyone works from whatever location suits them best with daily stand-up calls to keep each other in the loop.

Initially, work is likely to be on a project-by-project basis but we would be very keen for this to develop into a full-time role as quickly as possible.

Relevant technologies/tools/skills include:

  • Node.js

  • Express

  • MongoDB

  • Agile development

  • TDD/BDD

  • Git

  • Heroku

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining our Node.js app

  • Managing our MongoDB databases

  • Monitoring and improving overall system performance

  • Writing integrations for channel partners and cloud-based services

  • Generally being a bit of a backend genius

If you're up for a challenge and enjoy an adventure, we'd love to hear from you!
