Tectonic Interactive Ltd is hiring

Full Stack Developer

You will be working for Tectonic Interactive Ltd as Full Stack Developer

Do you want to work with a BAFTA-nominated, multi award-winning team whose technology powers viewer interaction on shows such as The X Factor, Big Brother and Match of the Day through mobile apps, social media and the web? Do you want to work alongside the technological genius behind the UK’s most-trusted platform for IP-based interactivity and BT’s mass-calling platform?

Tectonic Interactive is looking for Full Stack Developer to play a leading role in designing and implementing the next generation of our platform and services. If you’re currently a junior developer, technologist or computer scientist who is looking for the next step-up, then this is, without doubt, the job that you should be applying for.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be Robin to the CTO’s batman; like the dynamic duo, you’ll be as comfortable fighting (technological) battles together as you are operating solo. Whilst we don’t actually have a bat cave or a batmobile (or a cape for you to wear; or a butler to bring us tea), we do have some pretty cool tech.

You’ll have JavaScript development experience and will have built applications on AWS. Whilst we don’t expect you to be guru-like in everything, you’ll have broad, full-stack knowledge. You’ll need to know what a socket is, and how to write complex SQL queries; you’ll be able to write efficient algorithms and be obsessed with finding simple solutions to complex problems. For extra kudos, you may also have built mobile apps for iOS or Android.

More importantly, you’ll have a tenacious and inquisitive personality: you’ll like experimenting with new technology and working out how to use things and solve technological riddles; not just the “how?” but the “why?” You’ll write elegant code that solves problems; not just code that bumps you up the GitHub contributions chart.

You’ll love working with customers, and our customers will love working with you.You’ll become one of their trusted sources of technical advice, and help solve their business problems be they at the application- or the database- layer. You’ll help to keep batman focussed and work with him to help stay alert for the next trap, pitfall or dastardly villain.

You’ll be happy to roll up your sleeves and muck-in wherever you might be needed. You’ll get that the audience won’t wait, and in a weird kind of way you’ll look forward to the next caffeine- and sugar-fuelled late night wrestling with the next challenge.

What you’ll get back

  • A salary of £35,000-£45,000;
  • Company pension scheme
  • Potential to join our share ownership scheme;
  • Flexible working (including working from home);
  • We’re a small team and we all come from a variety of backgrounds. As a result, we tend to learn a fair bit from each other every day;
  • As the company grows, you’ll be able to get involved in other areas of the business;
  • Lots of banter over food; coffee; and maybe the odd beer.
The formal stuff
  • Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer
  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Location: Vox Studios, Vauxhall, London
  • Working hours: Flexible working
  • Start date: As soon as possible
