Are you a business minded geek with a passion for computers, technology and gaming? Join one of the most exciting gaming hardware projects in the world!
PiixL is a start-up based in Old Street, East London. We are the designers of the Jetpack, a ground breaking gaming PC running on Steam OS and designed to attach at the back of any TV. Our product announcement in Dec13 gave us fantastic media coverage in the biggest tech blogs in the world (The Huffington Post, The Verge, Pocketlint and VentureBeat to name a few) and tremendous traction, with more than 30k visitors to our website in 3 days, and 100+ consumer enquiries about our product! By its innovative design concept, our first product, Jetpack, is disrupting the gaming industry and has been saluted by all major tech blogs as a serious challenger to traditional PC and console gaming, and a serious candidate to be the next Steambox of reference.
Following this very successful soft launch, we’re on the verge of launching our product into the world. We have very busy weeks ahead of us, therefore we ‘re creating this role for an intern to join us as soon as possible. This 3months position could rapidly turn into a full-time paid role if the launch proves to be successful. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast growing start-up adventure from the very beginning!
Scope of the role:
-Help us with all aspects of the launch of the Jetpack
-Help us manage all customer requests coming in during launch and after
-Manage all our social networks by creating exciting and engaging content and keeping customers up to date on the company’s activity.
-Maintain and grow our fan base by keeping the conversation going across all social networks.
-Actively reach out to gamers and computer enthusiasts communities to help grow our user base.
-Generally provide us with help dealing with any ad hoc request.
Profile of the ideal candidate:
You are a keen gamer (PC and/or console) and you’re aware of the latest news in the industry. You’re generally enthusiastic about gaming, technology, computer hardware. You regularly keep up to speed on gaming blogs, forums, Facebook, Twitter and Reddit, and ideally you are an active contributor on those platforms. You’re excited about the upcoming release of Steam OS in 2014.
You’re also into computers and computer hardware, and the occasional computer hacker. You like buying your own PC components. You’re excited about the latest innovations in gaming gear. Steam boxes, Oculus Rift, are familiar (and exciting) words to you.
You’re a good communicator. You can produce content quickly and keep the conversation going on all our social networks with great, engaging content (photos, videos, editorial). You are familiar with video editing software (Final Cut Pro or other).
You have opinions and you’re not afraid to share them. You can express yourself perfectly in written English.
You’re not afraid to work within a very small team, in a fast-paced environment, roll-up your sleeves and take some responsibilities quickly. You also understand that due to the nature of the start-up work, objectives and priorities can evolve quickly.
