Operon is an early stage start-up planning to change the way software is developed for health and social care That’s faster, cheaper and better.
We plan to launch an open Platform as a Service for health and care based on proven open standards. We have a backend stack based on openEHR that is already powering healthcare systems in the UK, Moscow and Brazil that we want to make available as PaaS to innovative developers to create software that makes a real difference to the way health and care are delivered.
Led by an experienced team of clinicians and health informaticians with a track record of commercial success we want to build the UK’s first health Unicorn.
Our initial focus is on supporting the thousands of “feral” or “shadow” system developers trying to build apps to meet needs or solve problems that the outdated mainstream IT in health and care can’t meet, but our ambition is to build an open digital ecosystem in health and care that will displace the current incumbents.
To date the company has been financed by the founders and early sales avoiding the need for external seed funding. During 2017 we plan to seek substantial VC funding to take us to the next stage.
The Company operates virtually and while these post will be based in our Central London workspace at Runway East Finsbury Sq, London alongside a number of other tech start-ups, there are plenty of opportunities for flexible working.
We are currently a small company and we need people with broad skills and a willingness to lend a hand with any aspect of the Company’s activity in addition to the core task of software development. We need people able to work with minimal supervision and bring their own ideas and expertise to our venture.
There will be an opportunity to work with the health informatics community which includes many enthusiastic clinicians and innovate developers wanting to disrupt the way IT is delivered in health and care to unlock the potential of digital technologies to improve lives.
You will have:
Credible experience in:
Experience in parenthesised technologies a bonus.
Experience of working in the health and social care domain would be an advantage, but is far from essential.
