Role Description

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Linux Systems Administrator to manage our ecommerce infrastructure. This is a great opportunity to exercise and sharpen your DevOps and AWS skills.

Principal tasks

· Keep our website running flawlessly through sheer willpower and ninja abilities

· Troubleshoot issues in production systems with above mentioned abilities

· Work with Amazon Web Services: EC2, S3, Route53, IAM, and RDS

· Write puppet scripts to configure the infrastructure to amaze your friends and family

· Use ansible scripts to deploy software releases with only your keyboard's up arrow

· Improve our monitoring systems, because you can never have too many email alerts

· Improve our custom metric solutions, because you can never have too many graphs

· When the team grows, you’ll supervise and coach the Junior System Administrator(s)

Required skills & experience

You’ll be a seasoned System Administrator able to demonstrate:

· Solid working knowledge of Linux (currently Debian and CentOS)

· Linux administration tasks and bash scripting

· Knowledge of typical web architecture stacks, including load balancers, web servers, tomcat application servers, and database servers

· Knowledge / experience of Hybris desirable

· Experience with Puppet, or similar configuration management software such as Chef

· Experience with AWS cloud technologies

· Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and security, intrusion detection, firewalls, HTTPS/HTTP optimisation.

· Server build and configuration

· Comfortable with Database server management (Postgres, MySQL, or MS SQL)

· Experience with virtualization technologies such as XenServer, kvm, or Vmware

· Experience with monitoring technologies such as nagios, graphite, etc.

· Management of server certificates

· PCI vulnerability scanning and penetration testing

· Experience of implementing backup procedures

· Ability to work well in a small team and communicate effectively at all levels offering empathetic support to a workforce of widely varying levels of technical expertise

· Team management experience is desirable
