knowable is looking for a creative php developer who wants to join our growing team in order to help us building the GitHub for hardware and the best online tools for Makers all over the world.
Who we are.
knowable.org is the social network for Makers. It’s a collaborative platform that connects Do-It-Yourself-Enthusiasts all over the world, allowing them to share, discuss, and build upon the ideas of others. Our vision enable meaningful collaboration between Makers – no matter where they are, or what they are working on. Think of it like a GitHub for the real world.
knowable is still in early development and we have lots of ideas where we want to take it next and how we can improve our existing platform. Be it building more advanced (real-time) collaboration features, bringing it to phones and tablets, or scaling our infrastructure to meet a growing user base. We want to do everything we can to make it easier for Makers all over the world to connect, join forces and build things together.
What we are looking for.
If you are a talented and creative programmer with a computer science background (or a similar level of skill) and are looking for a new and challenging job, we’d love to talk to you.
* CS degree (or similar level of skills)
* advanced understanding of PHP (and other languages)
* understanding of the latest trends and developments in webdev
* knowledge of and experience with HTML5 and CSS3
* great appreciation for UX, details and quality
* involvement with the maker scene is appreciated
You’d join knowable as an early employee, shaping not only the fundamental code and product but also the company as a whole. Your ideas, input and critical thinking are moving the team forward and allow us to see things from different perspectives.
Your focus on writing great and reliable code accelerates the speed of our development, improves the stability of the site and helps us to implement world class features.
We are currently based in Berlin, but also have some office space in London (thanks to our current investor Seedcamp). Ideally you’d relocate to Berlin (or be here at least for some days during the week) – but if we really, really like each other we probably can make something else happen here in London :)
If you are interested, please send me (Emanuel Schwarz, firstname.lastname@example.org) your CV, a link to your GitHub-Profile (if available) and – even more importantly – describe why you’d like to work at knowable and what inspires you about the maker movement in your cover letter.
Talk to you soon!
