We are a small start-up with an award winning iPad app and some small iPad/iPhone games, all of which you will be porting to Android. Once ported, there will be ongoing development work to develop new features and possibly new apps too. You will work closely with the iOS developer and our web platform developer, as we are building a RESTful web platform running on EC2 that our flagship app will communicate with.
Both our iOS developer and web developer have strong Scala experience, and are keen to explore writing the Android app in Scala, if not from the start, then certainly porting it as we progress. We also believe in sharing knowledge and helping each other out, so you are likely to be coding objective-c and Scala from time to time, so experience with or an interest in learning them is a plus.
We currently use the JetBrains tools for development, including AppCode for iOS, IntelliJ for our web platform and TeamCity for CI. Given all that, we’d prefer you use the JetBrains Android Studio over Eclipse.
You’re perfectly willing to learn new technologies on the fly. Perhaps you’ve been working on your own app business and want to learn more about the startup industry. Do you want to work somewhere where your talents can be properly showcased… and you get to change people’s lives with your code?
