We are looking for a part-time (15-20 hours/week) Business Development Intern to be part of an international effort to scale the multi-million dollar sales machine at Cogniance. You will play a key role in our London sales office, working closely with our Sales Manager on generating and qualifying leads, as well as conducting on-ground business development by attending industry events.
We are looking for the intern to start in early October, and with no pre-specified duration of the internship. We would expect a minimum 6-month commitment, but would prefer the intern to stay with us for longer. If the intern performs well, there could be opportunities for full-time employment post graduation.
Lead generation: The intern will identify companies of interest in the London / UK region, identify and attempt to communicate with the appropriate decision makers in the company, and provide the Sales Manager with qualified client prospects. Successful candidates possess the ability to conduct thorough and structured market research, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with prospective clients.
Business development: The intern will, in coordination with the Sales Manager, attend industry events in the London metropolitan region, with the intent of building relationships with potential clients. Successful candidates possess the ability to confidently and succinctly pitch potential clients on what Cogniance offers, and are comfortable networking with startup founders.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Current undergraduate or graduate student with a business/marketing/technology concentration
• Up-to-date technology enthusiast, knowledgeable on mobile, SaaS, and other cloud-based platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Native/fluent in verbal and written English
• Outbound marketing and/or sales experience preferred
• Strong internet research skills
• Basic understanding of / experience with CRM systems (such as Salesforce.com)
• Self-reliant and reliable, responsible work attitude
• Hourly base salary
• Commissions and bonuses based on achievement of performance targets
