Chew is hiring

Full stack developer at Chew TV

You will be working for Chew as Full stack developer at Chew TV

We are looking for a permanent, full stack programmer to take the lead in engineering and scaling the Chew platform. Working alongside (and taking over some of Ben’s responsibilities), you’ll be building new features into the existing web application and scaling the platform to handle rapidly increasing user volumes.

Our tech stack is Amazon Web Services, PHP, Laravel, React.

What’s required:

  • Extensive experience with PHP and framework like Laravel or Symfony.
  • Awesome front-end skills - we’re just starting to use React so we’ll help you learn if you’re not familiar already.
  • You know how to configure and deploy backend infrastructure like a pro. The more Cloud knowledge the better.

For an extra 10 points:

  • You know about and have set up Womza servers
  • An understanding of live video streaming and H.264 HLS/HDS.
  • You’re a DJ or music nut.

We’re currently based at Warner Yard in Farringdon (this location may change) and we work a 10-6pm day, with options to work remotely.

The Company

Why work for us:

Chew is the live streaming community for DJs. We’re the online platform that lets DJs support each other, teach each other and make a name for themselves.

About us:

It’s estimated there are over a million professional DJs around the world, and millions more amateurs. And, of course, there are the hundreds of millions of dance music fans. There are forums where you can discuss DJing and there are sites where you can upload your DJ mixes. But there’s no single online community that lets DJs support each other, teach each other, make a name for themselves – or even discover the next big thing. We’re changing that.
