Technology Internship at BlikBook: The Role
We\‘re looking for an ambitious undergraduate or recent graduate with an interest in technology, entrepreneurship and all things digital. The intern will report directly to the Director of Technology and will be helping us with the improvements in existing backend and adding new features to the website.
Blikbook is a venture backed digital business that has simple but lofty ambitions – to revolutionise the etextbook market for undergraduates. Having launched this September, we have some great projects that need some love from a talented developer to bring to life.
We\‘re a young, dynamic and fast growing office based just by Oxford Circus (London) with some other exciting start-ups. We can offer a fun a place to work, good coffee from Kaffeine, grade A banter and regular trips to The Social next door (for infamous Hip Hop Karaoke).
We use Django for our website back end and we are looking for an intern to help us with new projects and updating existing ones. They will have their own projects for which they’ll lead and have accountability, as well as playing a role in a number of other ones.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
* Python/Django development experience
* Experience working on website backend and databases
* Good to have but not compulsory: Basic Unix/Linux skills
* Entrepreneurial self starter mindset
* Ability to work in a small closely-knit start up team
* Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
* Loves challenges and comes up with creative solutions
Please send along your CV with a cover letter stating your interest in the role and why you should be considered.
NB. The internship is paid, and expectations are a minimum of 2.5 days work per week. We’d prefer you to work in our office but we can have some flexibility.
